Jeff Brown

Jeff Brown - The Smyth County Jam welcomes Jeff Brown. He makes his home in Richlands, Virginia. Jeff teaches in the Traditional Music program at Southwestern Community College. He plays guitar, mandolin and bass. He is an exceptional singer also. Jeff has a brother, Tony, who plays banjo. Their band is called the "Tony and Jeff Brown Band". The band also consist of Jeff's son Austin, and Tony's son, Noah. Jeff Brown played with Larry Sparks for many years; at the Grand Ole Opry, Austin City Limits and other well known venues. He says he has toured all over the country. This is the first time Jeff has been on our stage. We are happy to have him anytime he can come. Jeff's school holds a Festival on June15th -16th, (Friday and Saturday). Friday's music begins at 6pm and Saturday's at 3pm. Everyone is invited to the festival. Jeff says he is a huge admirer of Ralph Stanley. His favorite songs are the Stanley Bothers' version of "White Dove " and "John Deere Tractor " by Larry Sparks.
