Smyth County Jam Bios

The Wrights

The Wrights - This is the first time The Wrights have visited the Smyth County Jam. What a unique family!

There is the father Ted, who is a carpenter, and plays dobro.

Next we have Kim. the mother of seven . Kim plays bass and sings.

Then there is: Nikki, age nineteen, she plays fiddle and sings.

Courtney, age eighteen, sings and plays banjo.

Daniel is sixteen, playing guitar and singing. too. Naomi is fourteen and picks mandolin.

Caleb is twelve and plays fiddle. Mandi is eight, she is a good dancer and sings also.

Jed is eighteen months, with a huge smile on his face most the time.

Baby Lacey is six months, not quite old enough to play or sing yet.

Kim says she is expecting the ninth child whom they hope to name Jefferson Davis.

The family comes to the East from Washington state and now live in Waynesville, NC. Ted says his grandpa on one side was a musician and all of the other side of his family played and sang. Kim grandparents played and all sang. They are currently going to festivals, churches and jams and other venues in the area. We look forward to seeing them back with us soon. Kim states that the majority of the family would pick Doyle Lawson as their favorite performer, but that each one may also like others too. The website for the Wrights is wrightfamilyband.org in case any one wants to book them.
