Smyth County Jam Bios

Raymond Shuler

Raymond Shuler - Most of us would come to The Smyth County Jam just to see Raymond Shuler dance, if for no other reason. He has been dancing on a regular basis for about thirty years. Quite a polished dancer with many steps to his credit. Raymond is a building contractor, who has lived in Chilhowie area since 1954. He was on a clogging team for about ten years. Raymond spent two years in the Army. He has done missionary work in many places on the globe, being on eighteen crusades in fourteen different countries. He belongs to Chilhowie Christian Church, in fact, built the new church just out side of the town, up on the hill. Raymond is seventy-seven years young; with foot work like his, one should never mention the word OLD!
