Smyth County Jam Bios

Redhead Express

Redhead Express - This makes the second time this lovely group of extreemly talented sisters have graced our stage at the Smyth County Jam. They are a also a part of the very musically inclined Walker Family known as the "Redhead Express" and most of them have red hair! They are originally from Palmer, Alaska, but currently make their home in Tennessee.

Kendra Walker Stevenson, the eldest, is a very talented guitar player, song writer and singer with a warm voice influenced by jazz and blues.

LaRae Walker Smith, is a very accomplished banjo player both in claw-hammer and Scruggs' three-finger style. She also adds a lovely high-tenor voice to the mix.

Alisa Walker Cunningham is a very accomplished fiddle and mandolin player who loves to share her talent. Her low baritone singing has been compared to Loretta Lynn and her unbridled energy sets the stage on fire.

Meghan Walker is a very talented bass player and singer with a sweet, high-tenor voice. She seems to be very quite off stage, buy you won't see a hint of this shyness when she's on stage entertaining.
