Smyth County Jam Bios

Hunter Patterson

Hunter Patterson - The Smyth County Jam feels honored to be the host of such talented young fellows (and also an older person, with them). They call their band the Big Creek Ramblers. Hunter Patterson is going into the eighth grade shortly at Church Hill, TN Middle School. Hunter plays guitar, banjo and bass; he sings very well too. He says his sister plays fiddle. Hunter has an uncle who plays guitar; a musical family! Hunter says he is considering barber school when he gets through his regular education. He likes to fish and hunt for recreation. Hunter admires the Tony Rice unit. His favorite song currently is "Free Born Man". Hunter now plays guitar and sings with "Boots on the Ground"; a hard driving Bluegrass band. Hunter is now in the 10th grade and is mostly self-taught musically speaking, although Gary Pearsey helped him some.
