Loose Ends Band

Loose Ends Band - The Smyth County Jam welcomes the members of the Loose Ends Band.

Wade Petty is the fiddle player of the band and hails from Galax, Virginia. Wade has been playing fiddle for forty-two years. He says he can play guitar and bass also. He was a mechanic, for some years and then an electrician in later years. He retired in 2000. Wade has two daughters and one son. He says he admires Kenny Baker and Bobby Hicks's music and likes to listen to about any good band.

Bruce Mosley is from Cana, Virginia. He plays mostly guitar, but can also play dobro, piano and mandolin. Bruce is also an excellent singer. He is a retired building inspector.

Ted Nixon played banjo for the band tonight .He is retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. He comes from Jonesville, North Carolina. Ted says his favorite musician is Earl Scruggs, or Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. Larry Hogston is typically the banjo player, but Ted fills in from time-to-time.

Terry Bullin has recently retired from the Highway Patrol in North Carolina, after thirty years service. He plays a very good mandolin and says he likes to listen to Bill Monroe. Terry makes his home in Elkin, North Carolina.

Brandon Bowles comes from Rural Hall, North Carolina. He plays bass, as well as guitar and sings, too. He says he has been playing about six years. Brandon is employed by the North Carolina Highway Department. He likes all good groups in music and if he had to choose one it would be Third Tyme Out Band.

We sincerely hope this band will return to visit the Smyth County Jam as often as they are able.
