Ebby Jewel

Ebby Jewel - Ebby Jewell comes from Rosedale, Virginia. He plays all types of string music; banjo, mandolin, bass, guitar, fiddle and is an excellent singer also! He is from a musical background. Ebby says he worked twenty-two years for S&S Machinery. His brother, Shelby, retired from the Bluegrass Kinsmen last year. The band began in 1971, at the outset all the band members were related--(cousins, etc.) Ebby also taught music at Southwest Virginia Community College for about seven years. He says his newest project is to make a CD featuring all original songs/tunes that he and Teresa, his wife, have created . Ebby says he played on the road for four years . He and his wife have a total of nine grandchildren. The Smyth County Jam is happy to have such a talented group visit here and hope they will return often. They are a treat to hear and see. Our own Ervin Compton is now one of their group and we know he will be a fine addition to any group. Good Luck Ervin!
