Matt Henderson - It is a great experience to see such excellent and youthful talent at the Smyth County Jam. Matt Henderson along with his father Herb are from Fredericksburg, VA, and are visiting family in this area. Matt Henderson is twelve years old and can play bluegrass banjo as well as many adults who have played much longer. He represents the next generation of bluegrass pickers and one could not have a better representative. Matt says he has been playing for about five years. They play a lot of gospel music as a family group. Matt says he is a fan of Ralph Stanley. We invite them back any time they are in this area.
