William "Howard" Hawthorne (1936-2011) - Howard was a regular at the Smyth County Jam. We really miss his infectus laughter and his love of music.

William Howard Hawthorne Glade Spring, VA William Howard Hawthorne, age 75, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; French and Juanita “Dean” Hawthorne and a brother; Jimmy Hawthorne. He is survived by 1 Brother Charles W. “Bud” Hawthorne and wife Annie, Stonington, Il. 1 Sister Shirley Bowers, Glade Spring, Va. 1 Sister­in­law Daisy Hawthorne, Glade Spring, Va. Nieces & nephews; Edward & (Betty) Heath, Ricky & (Pam) Bowers, Naomi St. John, Brian Bowers, Randy & (Nancy) Hawthorne, Dana Hawthorne, Gary & (Shannon) Hawthorne, Teresa Hawthorne, Michelle & (Tom) Aronson, Jimmy & (Sherry) Hawthorne. Many special music friends Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Henderson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 ­ 7:30 prior to the funeral service or at the home of Shirley Bowers at any time. Pallbearers will be David McNeil, Jerry Owens, Eddie Thomas, Eddie Keesee, Jim Mixon, Jeremy St. John,Jarrod Bowers, Darius Bowman and Lincoln Hunt.
