George Crusenberry (1920-2007)

George W. “Buck” Crusenberry Sr., 87, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in the James H. Quillen Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Rhea Crusenberry; daughter, Carolyn J. Crusenberry; parents, James and Bessie Crusenberry; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Geraldine Crusenberry of Saltville and George W. Jr. and Diane Crusenberry of Emory; six daughters and sons-in-law, Isa and Bobby Wright of Glade Spring, Georgie and Gene Blevins of Chilhowie, Katherine and J.C. Heath of Saltville, Polly Crusenberry of Atkins and June and Kenneth Harris and Sandy and Larry Hogston, all of Saltville; brother, Thomas “Newton” Crusenberry of Saltville; two sisters, Katherine Russell of Marion and Myrtle Osborne of Saltville; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ruth Allison. Funeral services were conducted Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2007, at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Kenny Howard officiated the services. Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2007, at the Elizabeth Cemetery. The Saltville V.F.W. conducted military rites. The family received friends Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2007, prior to the services. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.
