Charles Delano "Wylie" Clear SALTVILLE, Va. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Charles Delano "Wylie" Clear, 74, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer and never complained. He joined his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Wylie was born May 1, 1941 to the late Oscar and Maxie Poore Clear. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sue Clear. Wylie was a U.S. Army veteran and loved Bluegrass music. The wonderful memories he leaves will be cherished by his wife, Lana Presley Clear; special daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Walter Surber of Saltville; two grandsons, Jacob Surber of Saltville and Joel Surber and fianc‚, Jade, of Bristol, Va.; four brothers, Oscar (Jane) Clear, Bob (Shonies) Clear, Don Clear and Dave (Lucille) Clear all of Saltville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
