Leon Blevins - The Smyth County Jam welcomes Leon Blevins to this venue. Leon was born and lives in Whitetop, Virginia. He says he has a wife, three dogs and a cat. Leon plays guitar and is a fine singer; he also plays a "little bit" of mandolin. Tom Blevins is his uncle , they are in the Middle Fork Gospel band. Leon says he and his wife also are involved in an old time band; The Mount Rogers Ramblers. Leon has been playing music about twenty-five years. His favorite musicians are the Stanley Brothers. Leon says he does not have a favorite song/tune; there are too many to mention one. He says he heard about the jam "through the grapevine"! Leon works for Skyline Telephone, cutting right-of-ways. We hope Leon and The Middle Fork Gospel band will return to the Smyth County Jam often, His grandfather, Vent Blevins, aroused his interst in music. Vent played several instruments.
