Walter Alford - The Smyth County Jam is pleased to welcome Walter Alford, coming to us from Buford, Georgia. Walter is a lawyer in Buford area. He is an extremely good dobro player, and says he also plays piano, sax, banjo and guitar. Walter's mother and grandmother both were very good pianists. He has four children and eight grandchildren. About all his children play music. Walter is in a band in Buford called "Counterpoint." The band plays country music, bluegrass and gospel. He says he has been involved in playing music most of fifty- nine years! A friend from Boone, (Art Cole), told Walter about the Smyth County Jam. Walter says he appreciates good harmony. Also he states that he is a fan of the late Patsy Cline. We are happy Walter has visited us and hope as time permits he will make a return trip here.
