Lawrence Richardson - Lawrence Richardson has lived in Smyth County since he was four years old, in the Adwolfe Community. He is a devoted attendee of the Smyth County Jam; rarely ever missing a Monday night. Before he retired, Lawrence and his late brother, Harry, were involved in farming and the dairy business. Lawrence has followed the music trail many years. His interests are wide and varied; but closest to his heart are anthropology and local history; very few people know as much as he does about this area. The Richardson family have been leaders in the Adwolfe community; involved in every phase of growth there. Lawrence himself is a charter member of Adwolfe Fire Department. At one time he served as Director of Smyth County Chamber of Commerce and was elected to the Board of Supervisors. Before he was disabled, Lawrence enjoyed trout fishing. He is interested in cars and racing as well. Lawrence began the Thomas Bridge Water Project, which is a great asset to all who live in Adwolfe community. He says he enjoys the music of Elvis Presley, and Wayne Henderson, among others. Lawrence plays keyboard by ear and very well. We hope to see him at the Smyth County Jam many more years.
